The goal of the motion, which initially was presented as a question – the law – is to include in the next revision of the Lea the gratuità for clinical examinations which require the sick diabetic. An important signal of hope that will allowà the early diagnosis of the complications of this disease, such as, for example, proliferative retinopathy, and is responsible for haemorrhages vitro and detachment of the retina”.
“The growing number of diabetic patients – remember the senators are signatories of the motion, show that we are facing a real social disease, which is also the leading cause of cecità acquired and one of the main causes of renal failure with the needà of dialysis or a kidney transplant. It is, therefore, indispensable to an approach to the treatment of early and appropriate by acting since childhood, precisely in order to avoid complications and invalidità”.
“We concluded the signatories – a più equitable distribution of access to care on national territory and the gratuità, through the inclusion in the Lea, of the blood tests, instrumental, therapeutic education and all the services connected to the management of diabetes and its complications. The rights of people with diabetes are the same human and social rights, which Italy agrees to defend all over the world”.
