The work has been funded by the Italian Association of Multiple Sclerosis and, above all, by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
The scholars, coordinated by Gianvito Martino, have been able to observe in the experiments on mice that the skin cells transformed into stem cells of the brain and subsequently transplanted in an experimental model of multiple sclerosis, have the capacity to repair the damage characteristic of the disease causes the myelin.
